A new image in Germany’s Skiing magazine. The shot is of Candide Thovex, taken while skiing around the Rendl side of St. Anton in Austria. The rest of the mountain was a complete whiteout and even down below the tree line the light was very flat, but such good snow. This is a secret little location tucked away in amongst a few trees. When the visibility is poor you need to head to the trees for some definition and contrast.
St. Anton
Ultimate Ski Advertisement
Ultimate ski, a British website concerning numerous ski resorts around the world, have picked up one of my photos with Danish skier Peter Isaksson for use as an advertisement in the Warren Miller ski show.
Chalets Companies in Austria
I have been shooting some chalets here in St. Anton for the English chalet companies. The photos are destined for the websites of the respective companies and for use on Ultimate-ski.com. I have only done a few hotels and chalets before so I still find them a challenge to shoot. Not my usual type of photography but I do enjoy it. 🙂
I also have a selection of prints going into some of the chalets where they will also be available for purchase.
Arson Poster
Canadian clothing company Arson is using one of my shots of Matthieu Perez for a poster. It is also being used by them for a lightbox to go in one of their local shops out in Canada. This was one of those wonderful days snow wise, deep powder. It was shot at Rendl as you descend from Schimmelegg into Hinter Rendl, one of my favourite runs. To do this run conditions need to be just right and stable. Too many people push it each year and almost without fail trigger an avalanche. The danger lies not only for them but also any one traversing the valley underneath.
Alpine Evolution Brochure
Alpine Evolution a chalet company based in St. Anton Am Arlberg has used a selection of my photos for their advertising in their catalogue and their ads in various magazines. Its a lovely chalet independently run by a wonderful couple. (alright, yes we are friends but if you don’t believe me go check it out for yourself.)
